Leaf Guard operates by accelerating the removal of moisture from turfgrass leaves, facilitating quicker dry down, ensuring effective guttation and dew dispersal.
This process is crucial in preventing the accumulation of moisture on the leaf surface, a condition conducive to fungal growth. When water droplets merge with guttation, it creates a nourishing environment for fungal pathogens.
Leaf Guard acts as a significant asset in winter disease management, ensuring the turfgrass has reduced leaf wetness which in turns inhibits the growth of fungal spores.
Adhesion and durability
Unlike surfactants, Leaf Guard forms a durable, water-resistant coating by adhering directly to the leaf surface, minimising the moisture content on the turfgrass leaves. Once bonded, it maintains its integrity, providing a long-lasting protective layer.
Application instructions
For optimal results, Leaf Guard should be applied as a standalone spray on dry turf. Mix 10l of Leaf Guard with 300–400l of water across 1ha of greens. The application is recommended to be applied to a dry leaf surface area from mid-August until the end of spring, every 7-21 days, depending on growth rate and mowing practices. Avoid application immediately before heavy rainfall.
